who we are

what the app stores

When you log a day, Pawprint stores what you chose to record:

• the taps — sleep quality, energy level, body words, activities, and an optional colour of the day (including “dunno” and skipped answers);
• any note you type, and the transcript if you dictate one;
• your in-app choices — companion, its name, theme, and which things you track.

There is no sign-up, so the app never has your name, email, phone number, contacts, or location.

where it lives

Entries are stored on your device, and synced to a database we run on Supabase in Sydney, Australia. Every row is protected by row-level security tied to an anonymous session created silently on your device at first launch — only that session can read or write those rows. The anonymous session is the only identifier; it is not linked to you as a person.

dictation

Voice notes are transcribed entirely on your device using the phone’s own speech recognition. Audio is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. If a device can’t transcribe locally, the microphone button simply doesn’t appear — there is no cloud fallback. The transcript is shown to you, editable, and saved only as part of your entry.

notifications

Reminders are optional, off by default, and scheduled locally on your phone. No notification data leaves the device.

usage analytics

To understand which features get used, the app records anonymous counts — for example “an entry was saved” or “an activity was logged”. These events are stored in the same Sydney database, contain no entry content, no free text, and no identifiers beyond the anonymous session, and are never shared. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.

what we never do

• no selling or sharing of data — with anyone, ever;
• no ads and no tracking across apps or websites;
• no generative AI anywhere — nothing you write or say is sent to, processed by, or used to train any AI system;
• no reading your entries. The database is engineered so that entries are accessible only to the device that created them, and operational access is restricted and never used to look at journal content.

deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything from your device, including the anonymous session that unlocks your synced rows — which leaves those rows permanently unreadable. If you’d like them fully erased from the database as well, email us before or after deleting the app and we’ll purge them.

children

Pawprint isn’t directed at children under 13, and collects the same nothing from everyone.

changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Since the app collects as little as possible by design, changes should be rare and boring.
